The Language of Wellbeing

We are delighted to announce that we have received funding from the Emergence Foundation to pilot a new innovative wellbeing and English language project with women who are migrants, refugees or asylum seekers. The project is a partnership between GCP, Sally Ramsden of Natural Connection and Praxis Community Projects, a specialist migrant charity.

The project will involve development and delivery weekly sessions involving yoga, participatory language learning and a shared community conversation lunch.

We’re really excited about this project as it’s a brilliant opportunity to work with Praxis, our Tower Hamlets neighbours, AND we don’t think this type of project has been done before. We’re excited to explore the ways in which wellbeing through yoga and English language learning can be combined, and if and how taking an embodied and participatory approach to language learning may benefit participants. We’ll be evaluating the pilot and sharing our learning, with a hope that we can build on this work and inspire others.

The sessions have started online via zoom and take place on Wednesday mornings. Get in touch if you are interested in volunteering!
