Feast for Friendship: A Fundraising Success!

Our Feast for Friendship fundraiser was a resounding success! Over the course of 11 feasts, we came together in the spirit of generosity, friendship and community, raising an incredible £4,890 to support the Touching Safe Ground (TSG) project. We are truly grateful for the kindness and commitment of everyone who participated, hosted, and donated to make this possible.

Expanding Our Reach with Touching Safe Ground

The funds raised will help us grow Touching Safe Ground, ensuring we reach more women and children. Just last week, we launched a brand new pilot, introducing a second weekly session at the hostel where many of the women we support live. This expansion includes a homework club for their children, creating a safe and supportive space where they can learn and thrive.

We are also collaborating closely with hostel managers and local child social workers to ensure that support reaches those who need it most. These new developments are already making a difference, strengthening our ability to offer a stable and nurturing environment for women rebuilding their lives and for their children’s education and wellbeing.

The Power of Community

This fundraiser was about more than just raising funds—it was about connection. Across 11 gatherings, friends, families, and colleagues shared meals, stories, and a collective commitment to making a difference. It was inspiring to see the generosity and warmth that filled each feast, reinforcing the power of coming together for a shared cause.

Heartwarming moments captured in the photos below:

Mandala Cafe hosted a Feast with a Quiz!

The Transforming Self & World group at the London Buddhist Centre organised a feast and quiz, hosted by Mandala cafe. A huge team of volunteers made an amazing feast, all 45 tickets sold out and the cafe was packed. We were put through our paces with Jane’s quiz, touching on both loneliness and connection - the music round was a big hit! We also heard a moving speech from one of the women participating in the project, who came along with her young son. We rounded off the night by handing out generous prizes from Sazzy & Fran’s Cafe, Quarantacinque, Artisan Brew, the Gallery Cafe and Mandala Cafe. So the lucky winners got to invite a friend to come and enjoy a free lunch, brunch or brekki on the house.
